I purchase a lot of OEM parts. How do you generate savings on these parts?
Motion Services will work with your maintenance and engineering departments to help identify OEM parts that can be converted to less expensive commercially available parts. We also work with engineering to identify items that are a candidate for “reverse engineering”. This process allows items with high consumption rates to be built by a local vendor or machine shop to reduce inventory levels, lead time and cost.
I have purchase agreements with other MRO suppliers. How will integration affect these agreements?
Motion Services believes that supplier selection decisions should remain with our customers. We will manage your existing agreements or make recommendations on developing a best in class supply chain.
What are your reporting capabilities?
The Motion Services system has numerous standard reports available for purchasing and inventory management information. These standard reports also have several selections, including date ranges, choice of summary or detail, and other options pertinent to site and customer inquiries. The Motion Services system also has a feature for User-Defined Reports, with base report topics ranging from inventory, purchasing, vendor, usage, equipment and consignment, with a multitude of selection parameters (including item number, general ledger, customer purchase order, and work order/job number).
What level of savings can I expect? Will you guarantee these savings, even year after year?
Motion Services will implement a formal cost savings program at each customer facility to assist in lowering your total cost of ownership (TCO). Reduction typically ranges from 20% - 25%. We offer a risk/reward scenario where we financially guarantee a certain percentage of our savings year after year.
I have a lot of slow moving and obsolete items. Can you buy these back? Will you offer to buy back my entire inventory?
Motion Services provides several options for inventory ownership and inventory reduction programs, from managing consignment from second tier suppliers, to buyback of inventory by the preferred supply base for each commodity on “A” condition inventory.
My storeroom is a mess. Can you help me clean it up or move it?

What is Integrated Supply?
Integrated supply is an inventory, transaction and acquisition cost reduction process that shifts the responsibility of purchasing and maintaining MRO inventories from the customer to Motion Services and the supplier base.
What if I want to keep Procurement as a company function rather than giving you that responsibility?
Motion Services works with our customers to develop a scope of services that is mutually agreed upon. It is our customer’s decision on what piece of the MRO puzzle they want to outsource.
What is VMI?
Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) is where the MRO vendor that supplies a group of commodity items is responsible for the management of these items, based on agreed to Min/Max levels. These items usually fall into specific commodities such as; safety, bearings, hose & fittings, electrical, PVF, etc.
What is a POU?
Point of Use inventory distribution. Typically this type of inventory is fast turning and results in lost production time for employees when they have to travel to and from a central storeroom. Usually this inventory is managed through VMI or vending machines.
